>>>God is a Holy and Righteous God. He spoke the world into existence and made man in His image to be in a relationship with Him.
>>>Adam and Eve sinned, and every human since then, separating them from God.
*God cannot be around sin. If sin enters the presence of God, it has to die.
>>>But God had a plan. to be with His people again. This plan is seen all throughout the OT and was revealed in Jesus.
Colossians 1:15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation:”
>>>Jesus came down to earth-God in the flesh. When people saw Jesus, they saw God, despite whether or not they believed He was God.
*Through Jesus, people were able to interact with God and not die.
*But this was not enough.
Colossians 1:19–20 “For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”
>>>It was not enough for Jesus to simply come down and “hang out” with His creation. He had to deal with the sin problem.
*Jesus was still God and still had to punish sin.
*Jesus came on a mission-to bring back (reconcile) creation to Himself.
>>>Jesus took the punishment for our sins and rose again so that we can be back in the relationship we had with Him at the beginning of time.
>>>There were two things that were said tonight. When Jesus was revealed/made known, people saw God whether they believed He was or not.
*Jesus has been made known to you. The gospel has been shared with you. Do you believe that Jesus is God and came to save you?
>>>The second thing that was said was that it was not enough for Jesus to just come and hang out with His creation. He came to deal with sin.
*It’s not enough to “hang out with Jesus”-going to church/Christian school/good things. You have to turn from your sins and believe the gospel.

INVITATION
We are going to have two prayers tonight before more worship.
For Unbelievers:
This night is for you. We want you to see the love that God has for you by making a way through Jesus for you to be reconciled to Him. The Bible says that if you believe in your heart Jesus was raised from the dead and confess Him as Lord, you will be saved. There is no special prayer/words. It’s just you walking up to your Creator and saying “I know Jesus died and was raised for my sins, and He is now the Lord of my life.” Take time to do that as I pray.
For Believers:
At the beginning of the summer, all of us wrote prayers on this plywood on any spiritual goals we had or anything in our lives we wanted to bring before Him. How has this summer been? Are you starting the school year different than the way you ended the last? Even if you didn’t write a prayer, the same question is posed to you. Maybe you need to confess/repent of sin, ask God to help you with an area of your life, or simply talks to Him about the coming school. Remember camp: Revival Generation. How does that need to look for you? Take time to talk with God as I pray.
